ROLAND, Okla. (Jan. 14, 2026) — Cherokee Casino & Hotel Roland will welcome acclaimed red dirt country singer-songwriter Stoney LaRue at 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, at Lee Creek Tavern inside the casino.

LaRue has spent more than two decades earning recognition as one of the region’s most dynamic performers, known for his gritty vocals, heartfelt lyrics and genuine connection with fans. Born in Taft, Texas, and raised in Yanush, Oklahoma, he began his musical journey in Stillwater, where he joined influential artists like Jason Boland and Cody Canada. Together, they helped define the raw, soulful sound that red dirt music is known for today. Inspired by legends such as Woody Guthrie, Bob Childers and Mike McClure, LaRue has built a legacy rooted in blending heartfelt lyrics with raw emotion and genre-defying creativity.

Over the years, he has released a series of albums that showcase his artistic growth. His 2011 album “Velvet” debuted at No. 15 on the U.S. Country chart and No. 5 on the U.S. Indie chart, followed by “Aviator” in 2014 and “Us Time” in 2015. His 2019 release “Onward,” produced by Gary Nicholson, captures themes of resilience and renewal that continue to resonate with audiences.

Known for his magnetic stage presence, LaRue delivers performances that draw fans from across generations. Whether playing favorites like “Feet Don’t Touch the Ground,” “Oklahoma Breakdown” and “One Chord Song” or tracks from “Live at Billy Bob’s Texas” and “Double Live 25,” his shows blend authenticity, emotion and energy in equal measure.

The show is free to those 21 and older.
